Campaigns

JAGORI has been in the forefront of several national campaigns on key issues of women´s rights, including the campaign leading to the Supreme Court guidelines on sexual harassment in the workplace and the campaign against hazardous contraceptives. We continue to be active on these and other issues of women´s rights.

JAGORI is also working with the National Human Rights Commission and the Indian Railways on a public advocacy campaign on safe rail travel for women.

The JAGORI ´Safe Delhi Campaign´ launched in 2005 aims to mobilise public concern and action around the issue of public safety. The aim of this campaign is to involve the State and civil society in creating a safer city not only for women and girls but for all vulnerable groups. As part of this campaign, we are conducting participatory ´safety audits´ in different areas of Delhi including residential areas, shopping centres, government buildings, educational institutions and cinema complexes in order to identify ´unsafety´ factors and get people involved in making their own spaces more secure.
