Research

JAGORI is involved in action-research on a range of women´s issues. All these studies have been followed up with focused advocacy and interventions on these issues through larger platforms.

Our studies on the status and situation of single women and on women´s mental and emotional health have played a significant role in bringing a women-centred perspective on these issues to the attention of policy-makers. We have also participated in international research projects on trafficking, migration and sex work.

The situation of migrant women workers in the urban informal economy is an area of particular concern especially in the context of current macro economic and urban development policies. Our action-research project in the Bawana Resettlement Colony explores the impact of evictions on women´s lives and livelihoods, and is aimed at supporting the struggle of this community to claim their rights and entitlements as citizens of Delhi. more…
