JAGORI, an activist women’s group is involved in generation, organization and dissemination of information on women’s issues for the past 24 years. We feel that reaching out to the grassroots women in a format compatible with their requirements is most important, as herein lies the politics of information – the underlying assumption that information not reaching women leads to their continued oppression and exploitation.
Following this vision, Dekhi Suni was launched in Feb 2007 from the JAGORI Resource Center.
It is a selection of newspaper clippings on the gender issues which is put together every quarter. News affecting our every day lives are gleamed from 4 Hindi newspapers and arranged under 2-3 major themes for easy convenience. Our aim is to reach out to every organization/institution/individual working on gender issues in the rural areas in North India so that information reaches out a wider number of women.
